I'm convinced short course downhill racing where riders race down a short 1-2 min course and push up to the start, has a bright future. These types of races are an excellent way to develop the grassroots of the sport and introduce more people to downhill racing.
So I was stoked to find out about an upcoming event at Innerleithen being organised by Innerleithen MTB Racing and Scottish Cycling - an U16's Mini Downhill Race on Sat 31st October (where the Spooky bit comes in!).
It's a great opportunity for young un's to try downhill racing and even better, Scottish Cycling will be providing coaching on the course in the morning before the racing.

The Mini DH event is just one of many happening during the upcoming Tweed Valley Forest Festival which runs from 23rd Oct to 1st Nov. www.forest-festival.com has all the info.
It’s the weekend
